Department Overview:
The Network Yield Management team sits at the intersection of Sales, Finance, Consumer and Ad Product business units to improve yield and drive revenue growth on behalf of the Yahoo! EMEA Display and Search advertising business.
Role Overview:
This role will focus on pricing support for the Yahoo!’s display advertising business in the Middle East. This person will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing rates, managing yield, taking charge for pricing approvals and providing pricing analytics. The role will also include implementing and enforcing policies and programs relevant to achieving the highest revenue across Yahoo! properties, managed Partner inventory and 3rd party inventory buys.
This person will also be responsible to build a bottom-up picture of inventory monetization, interpreting historical trends, ensuring accurate supply forecasting. With a detailed understanding of the inventory mix, the candidate will be expected to identify new revenue opportunities and to drive initiatives that help Yahoo! to realize these revenue streams.
In addition to analytics, this person will also have to work with multiple Sales teams, located mostly in offices in the Middle-East to influence deal negotiations ensuring effective inventory monetization.
Responsibilities:
  • Managing and enforcing the rate cards analytically and operationally in the Middle-East
  • Developing opportunity assessments and opportunity cost analyses to weigh tradeoffs
  • Conducting business analysis and proactively identifying upside opportunities with current approaches
  • Owning commercial assessment of Y! Studio deals
  • Providing account-level analyses on commercial opportunities
  • Implementing business rules and policies related to pricing
  • Auditing existing business rules and programs and identifying improvement opportunities
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree with a focus on business, economics, engineering, computer science, math, or related quantitative discipline
  • Experience in inventory/yield management, business consulting, economics, or other highly quantitative fields
  • Work experience in the Middle East region and local language skills will be required
  • Experience with online media and auction-based marketplaces a plus but not required
  • Self-starter with the desire to work in a challenging, fast-paced, and unstructured environment
  • Ability to distil and communicate results of complex analyses clearly and effectively
  • Solid understanding of business practices and effective business process
  • Strong proficiency in Excel is a critical requirement
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and a collaborative team player
  • Quick learner
Summary of Role:
The Network Yield Management function at large sits between many stakeholders, with strategic responsibility for improving yield as well as day-to-day operating responsibilities for managing pricing and inventory utilization. 
The Pricing Manager will take the lead on pricing analytics and deal approvals focusing on the Middle East. This person will have to act upon the guidelines of the rate cards and will be working with local and global sales teams influencing annual and ad-hoc commercial deals. By developing a deep understanding of advertiser and agency behaviour (purchase cycles, marketing objectives, buying patterns, product mix), the Pricing Manager will have to drive initiatives to maximise advertising revenues in these fast growing markets.
This person will be able to deep dive into very unstructured transactional data and build an overarching picture of inventory monetisation, identify new opportunities and drive initiatives to fulfil these potential new revenue streams.
This candidate must be very analytical and detail oriented (managing complex models derived from multiple data inputs); however, they must also have very strong communications skills. Prior work experience in the Middle East is a must in order to effectively interact with local sales and product teams.
